A Grand Journey

The theme of magic captured the imagination of many Baroque composers, resulting in Lully’s Roland, Handel’s Alcina, Purcell’s Thee Fairy Queen, and Telemann’s Burlesque de Quixote. For Chilean-born painter Maca Suazo, whose evocative paintings have been inspired by magic realism in literature, this concert will provide the opportunity to fulfill a lifelong ambition: creating paintings inspired by this fantastical music of the Baroque. We are also proud to present the work of local sculptor Nicholas Rees.
